If qx does fold into the mix I can see them doing 195 interisland, which is fine just has to be on the mainline ticket on mainline pay and benefits with mainline pilots

Not the right airplane for that operation. Not enough cargo capacity and engines poorly suited to those kinds of cycles.

That would be ill advised.

I don’t disagree but it would never happen.

To say the least, not happening. Why would AS bother with merging QX... just so they could pay them more to do the same job? And it's not just the pilots either.

Best news I’ve heard in a long time, the sooner the better 👏

As a QX guy would be great, was the #1 ongoing rumor on the line when I got there in 2023. But I just don't see it. Hope I'm wrong and that they do it before I head off to greener pastures...

For one, Alaska has always been pretty conservative, now if Delta folded in Endeavor and/or AA started folding in their WOs then maybe...

As others have said why pay pilots and others more to do the same job when they don't have to, unless there's a post-covid like exodus to other carriers to the point the operation becomes seriously affected, then there's a snowballs chance at something like that happening. But I just don't see it, but happy to be wrong.

Also the union and pilot group would be beyond livid... can't legally staple them, so many AS pilots who came from QX would end up junior to themselves in the SLI.

No major has ever merged their regional FFD into mainline, that I recall. COMAIR probably came closest, but look where that got them.

It would be beyond ugly. Nobody wants that.
