Did anyone ever get called for an interview after attending the NWAA conference back in Feb.? I personally met with three different higher ups, HR, etc. and had a great experience with some encouraging feedback.

So far, nothing.

I had the same experience. Talked to everyone who mattered, had great feedback, and nothing since.

Don't give up, it can take a lot longer than you expect. 4-5 months even.

What he said. Friend of mine recently got hired, but he was beating down their door for the past 2 yrs, attending every event, open house, and several CP meetings until he got a called after the ALPA open house.

Not giving up.

I just find it interesting that 20 folks at the recent ALPA sponsored event were interviewed AND hired in one fell swoop at the event.

Coming up on 5 years in which I've been applying at AS. I don't want to go into specifics about my credentials (fear of outing myself here), but I meet and exceed every requirement at AS.

Rant over.

p.s. It's probably me.

I feel your pain. Politics is well and alive; that's a known. This airline hiring mystery thing is nearly impossible to figure out. I've seen some stellar friends with great credentials not get hired but eventually, they all made it to the majors and have good careers. Keep plugging away! btw, everyone AS accepts into their application process is "qualified". Somehow you have to make yourself stand out. No big surprise there. As many have suggested, an internal rec is pretty big at Alaskan, if you can get one or a few. I'm just sayin'. It's who you know (fortunately or unfortunately) and how best you can sell yourself.

Desert,

As many have said, do not give up. Many of us, including myself, worked our butts off to get where we currently are. There are many more out there trying.

I've sat on previous interview panels and could tell in the first five minutes when I knew someone worked their butt off to get where they wanted to be. You'll be no exception and it will show up in positive light when you step in front of that Alaska interview team. Keep plugging away.

I was at the NWAA Conference in Feb and got a call in March. Interviewed in April, waiting for a training date this summer sometime. Been working on them for a couple years too. Military fighter and heavy time background.

But have you exceeded the qualifications for more than 5 years? If so then maybe you'll hear something

Desert,
Why don't you just go to DAL in the short term, they have a SEA base that is getting pretty junior, and when AS calls you can bolt?
