Sounds like a change of heart. Great news! Something changed between now and 2 weeks ago.

Then once on property....how many more get to Alaska/Virgin only to leave their aps out and see if they get any hits? Sounds like prior to arbitration the company was throwing some cash on the front end of things but it is going to take more than that to retain folks. If hiring continues in the US like it is predicted it will be interesting to see if the company is willing to play ball. You can make some crazy money out there right now.

Wasn't there some stipulation on the hotels also, that you had to be outside of the Mecca by 100 miles? If you need a hotel then you need a hotel.

Management clearly does not realize this but it is already too late to save this sinking ship. Of the guys I have flown with, only a handful of FOs do not have their apps out, and those in that handful are just waiting to see what happens with the JCBA.

Even with a homerun for the pilot group regarding JCBA, we will still lose a large number of pilots that are willing to start at the bottom of the scale for the chance to fly a wide body or have the far superior work rules and quality of life that our competitors offer. Couple that with a dwindling interest of applicants and we are in serious trouble.

It's angering that they haven't even attempted to put a bandaid on a bullet hole...they are content just watching this place bleed out. By being unwilling to adapt with applied forward thinking and aggressive tactics for survival, management is quickly piecing together their own homemade coffin for this airlines future. If I were the big wigs, I'd save face by eliminating the eventual embarrassing death of this company and start seriously considering how to shine this old used up hooker for sale. Even then, getting past the DOJ for a suitor would be very difficult.

Glad i finished this prior to SWA's next recruitment event ticket drop on the hour

Yeah in our class, and the previous classes, the only people who got hotels were those who lived outside of some 50 or 100 miles away from the training center. I can't remember exactly what the distance is. I'm sure someone posted it a few pages back.

It was a real picture...the first one was taken while the doors were open and the conference was going on. The other was taken during setup before anyone had been allowed in the room.

I'm sure the person who posted it also uses the "before" picture on his/her FB, Tinder, EHarmony, Match, & FarmersOnly profiles. You know...the picture before s/he quit going to the gym, put on 60 extra pounds, started drinking a little too much and got uglier than a bucket full of foreskins.
