you got the payrates too so no windfall there. The retirement was a blazing 1.5 % higher before the JCBA brought everyone up. Your trips suck, your schedules suck, you have no incentive pay, premium pay seems to be a chimera, where as it is an almost daily event. The profit sharing is about 40% less for you, according to the 7.5 % they say it is going to pay out this year. this OPR crap is an illusion, it has not paid a penny all year. All this and you work on average 4 days more a month.

So why you are stuck on this windfall line I am not sure. Any average 10 year CA at VA is without question on W2 par or thereabout with any 20 year CA on your side, all while working less days. I am not sure why you have such a boner for this payrate thing. There is just simply much more to it than that.

So perhaps go learn some actual facts and it will enable you to look at this in a more realistic manner. The path forward is not clinging to baseless opinions you seem to have formed from an absence o factual data.

Great point on the TAFB equation. This is how pilots get soaked in these deals in the first place. Conversations like this focusing on pay rate windfalls ignore the glaring issues in this CBA that need to get fixed to reverse the trend of the the W2/TAFB equation.

While our rates sucked, it has been efficient and soft money (preemo, incentive, and the givaaway stuff like QIP) is readily available if not baked into the cake all while working less days. High QOL for the same dollars.

I wish the 2louds would get that so the conversation could move forward to fix the whole thing rather than who got what windfall. There were no windfalls except for those who get the benefit of "synergies" and that ain't us. We need to focus on carving out a bigger slice of the pie for us that does not include working more to make the same W2 with a higher pay rate.

So much "scoring," that many other FOs I know here at VX have updated their apps elsewhere since Oct 30th. For me, it was a combination of a number of factors. The tipping point was management's assertion that AK is a stepping stone and not a place to have a career. Okay, fine.....I'll treat this airline as a stepping stone and go have my career elsewhere then.

I beg to differ. I made $220k last year without figuring profit sharing. $245k with profit sharing. All on $185/hr. Your rate might have been $15/hr more but I more than made up for it with the soft time opportunities that I no longer have. So please let go of the illusion that the VX guys got a windfall. It’s simply not true. This merger has afforded both pilot groups substantial raises. It was a win for all despite not getting the ruling we wanted.

Anyway, d*ck measuring on an internet forum isn’t going to help at all. There is a 99.999999% that SLI is going to arbitration and both pilot groups bickering on here is absolutely pointless. Don’t lose sight that we are almost into 2018. We start full negotiations in 2 years. I suggest spending more effort focusing on that and saving up a strike fund than grenading ourselves over something we ultimately will have no control over.

Could anyone tell me what the hire date of the most junior captain is on the alaska side as of the recently announced snapshot date?

As of Dec 16th, 2016 Alaska's Jr Captain was June/July 2007, based in Anchorage.

As of today, the jr. Captain is Jan 2012, also based in Anchorage.

There are approx. 120 FO's senior to the jr. captain in Seattle (who presumably are waiting until they can hold Seattle to upgrade). The jr. captain in Seattle is a summer 2007 hire.

PDX is approx 2003/4 to hold the left seat.

LAX jr Captain is summer 2007.
