as for the airline itself, is BLI a rough base to get? (ik about everything being muddied by the global pandemic, but before this pandemic what would you say- and i suppose after?)
the bottom few slots in BLI were always a revolving door, as guys get tired of reserve life... Base hasn’t seen a ton of growth, and the senior guys there aren’t leaving any time soon. With the border closed? Who knows what BLI holds for the future.

It’s pretty unlikely the bottom few slots were able to hold reserve, it usually goes pretty senior in that base.

No mention of interviews/hiring at this time. Most training that was paused has been restarted. We are headed into the traditional slower months of the year and we are currently slightly over staffed. I’d be shocked to see any interviews before sometime next year, but you never know. Maybe they’ll find a cheap deal on some airplanes that they can’t pass up.

The recent arbitration win will force them into an off the shelf PBS or they’ll have to hire a lot more to cover their flying. Even with a commercial PBS I think they need more guys and if we do get more planes expect a hiring boom.

The January classes are finishing IOE. The February classes have been sent home with pay and the rumor is they will restart training sometime in the fall. Expect minor hiring early 2021 unless there's another Corona surge that shuts things down.

Just announced the remainder of the new hires will resume training this fall. No new hire classes until July 2021. Of course, that may change by tomorrow.

What are the prospects for the current LAX base? Is it a busy base? Will it grow? Is it junior/senior for new FOs?

We aren't getting A220s. This may dampen your interest.

Bottom CA is an 8/15 hire, bottom FO is a 2/20 hire. Like all our west coast bases, the bottom few positions are a revolving door because there's very little upward movement. 2 jets and seasonal flying. Busy in summer not busy in winter.
