Default Pilot Extremist Behavior & Ramifications

Whoa buddy. Not a flattering article here going around. I think ol' RG may have finally pushed it too far.

Plenty of those types right here on APC. Ron’s just choosing not to hide behind an anonymous screen name.

Let’s face it, we have a lot of ‘special’ folks in our industry. Bet it’s even worse at my company or some other legacy.

I guess this is a lesson for everyone that they aren't really anonymous on the internet, and that free speech has consequences. Especially when you're a highly paid professional in a public, safety critical job.

Yes. "Free Speech" only applies to the government (Fed, state, and local)... they cannot restrict your speech.

There are NO, NONE, ZIP, ZERO free speech rights associated with your relationship to non-government people or organizations, including employers. Exception for us is labor organizing activities approved by law... but that's limited, can't necessarily lie or slander managers and get away with it.

I'm confident that my employer would fire this guy immediately (they've done it before).

Word to the wise. Nobody cares about pilots at all... until they achieve public visibility or notoriety in a negative context. Then you get this ^^^

Be careful out there, and your idea of "negative" might be different than some of the public's.

Sadly this is widespread in our profession. When I tell friends outside of it some of the harebrained conspiracy cr@p I hear in the cockpit they are left dumb founded. Ron was just incompetent enough to shine a spotlight on himself. Maybe Vladimer can find him a flying job in Russia...

FAA is even worse by the way.
Foaming at the mouth ultra conservative.
Tell you what, if you still believe the election was “stolen” you should have your First Class medical revoked.

Pilots tend to be smart and educated, but often go through life as an "army of one", without the context and relationships that most educated people get at work, interacting with a bunch of other, often diverse, people in a professional goal-oriented environment.

If you have no context or experience with how organizations (systems of people) naturally work, it's easy to let your imagination run away from you. These days, that gets amplified in the social media bubble of your choice.

Two key points to keep in mind to help you stay at least in the parking lot of the reality ballpark...

1. Occam's Razor
2. Don't automatically attribute to malice, that which can be explained by lethargy or incomptence (ESPECIALLY in regards to anything .gov )

It would certainly quickly solve the current overcapacity of pilots

There most certainly were a few at the riot. Wonder how many will be identified inside the Capitol.
