This is exactly what is happening here: we are getting screwed on both ends. Management and our union. Management pays us and then screws us; we pay the teamsters to screw us.

the company is stupid though. Regurgitating that terrible proposal is hilarious, and just shows how serious they are. If they were smart they would’ve released really good pay and had everything else suck and we would’ve taken it

what do you mean “we would’ve taken it”??

Do any of you guys seriously still think the union is bargaining in good faith? This is slowly becoming criminally negligent on the part of the IBT who are paid BY US to represent our best interests.

Spit out the Kool-Aid for a moment, GU isn’t a pilot here. He couldn’t care less about this contract. He just wants to make sure that 1,300 pilots don’t leave his new playground. Meanwhile, we will NEVER make up the earnings we’re losing out on, even if they print money and give us delta +20%.

It’s time to sign a contract, lick our wounds, then hash it out again in 3-5 years.

But hey, maybe I’m wrong. Maybe the forklift drivers picketing with us will really persuade Maury. Get f*cking real.

I’m no fan of the company but they literally say in this email “this is not our last or best final offer”. I don’t know how much clearer they can be.

Where does it say that guy is an FO, that seems like captain pay?

It's definetly FO and fairly common with a decent amount a senority. It's confirmed on the End of Year Salary thread. It's not hard to credit a lot there even with 15-18 days off.

People need to set aside the emotion and treat it as a time value of money exercise; like evaluating an investment. I don't get the outrage - is it logical to expect the company to lead with $380/hr?

While we sit around all month debating it CA's will leave another ten grand on the table; but of course talk like that gets labeled as "fixate on the pay rates & forget to read the fine print" which happened before so we now find ourselves in a state of self-induced paralysis....

You’re headed in the right direction. Meanwhile, GU and his band of idiots have half of our pilots convinced good things are coming soon, just trust them. The issue is, we don’t know what the good things are and they couldn’t negotiate a deal for water on the beach.

I’m saying there’s enough pilots that’d be outraged at the union if they offered some ridiculous compensation that it’d easily pass a vote. Not me but I know the majority would take it

the union would have to allow the pilots to vote on it and GU ain’t gonna let that happen. He HAS to hold out for legacy+ contract because he knows only a legacy+ contract will stop us from moving to ALPA the second we ratify a contract.

That is what is taking so long. That is why the union is letting the company get away with slow rolling negotiations. NC is doing exactly what management wants them to do: take their time and keep negotiations moving like molasses.

Emergency Trusteeship is suppose to be 18 months. If we haven't heard squat having to do with elections by May, it will be time to begin "inquiring" and demanding elections.
