Apparently many pilots have reached out and expressed their desire to move on from unstacking, but this is the hill apparently those liars are looking to die on. And you're right, depending on who wins the election (if we even have one) their probably going to get **** canned from the position, or they will resign after get told to knock it off with unstacking. That's all dependent of course on who wins. Bc if it's Richie M's slate that wins, then we'll just never see a contract and only more of the disorganized BULL********T, because Richie has his head so far up Gregs arse that it's almost like a scene out of human centipede. Frankly none of it will matter, I think the ALPA drive will most likely succeed.

Honestly, if Toonsters are refusing to negotiate how does ALPO vote set back negotiations? I'm guessing most people fear losing their retention bonus? The one they probably won't get anyways. GU still trying to burn the place down to prove to national he's the all great and powerful union boss. My prediction is the July mediation will magically yield "great progress", "significant movement by management", "we're almost there!". Well no sense changing horses now. Enough pilots will fall for this, ALPA drive fizzles, NC & GU once again show their true colors & we spend 2 more years deadlocked on unstacking.

RB lump sum won't go unpaid due to switching unions but rather the accrued iou will be so large it would bankrupt the company if paid out per the LOA.

MY PREDICTION is that July will be a “nothing burger”, not bc either side is going to negotiate or not. But bc it’s going to be more of a “set the ground rules”, and mediator tell both parties what the agenda will be moving forward. Which is why it’s only one day.

im sure the company will either push comprehensive proposals once again, and/or do what they did in April. Which was propose 50% IF the union can collect the data running parallel bidding to show it can be done. The union better agree. I think that if in 90 days there’s no progress, the membership will revolt.

Right now GU is putting up a facade. By making it appear that the local is coming back by having comms come out from our pilot(s) and less of him. And that’s all it is; A FACADE.

Toonsters has already blown 4 years of negotiations, why not give them an extra 90 days? I'm sure something will come out of these mini-extensions [insert eye-roll here].

You're only hosing yourselves by not getting rid of GU now. You should've rid yourselves of the Toonsters after the first garbage contract GU gave you. The constant "let's just give them this one last chance and then we'll revolt" act is sad to watch.

By the way, what ever happened with those supposed charges against AR and the Exco??? I'm fully convinced this was just a ploy by GU to take over after getting his feelings hurt when you left his local and he wasn't able to collect your dues payments anymore for his exorbitant pay (along with the pay for the two high-priced & incompetent local attorneys). Sure, AR and his exco was ineffective and didn't know what they were doing. But rising to the level of criminality that required immediate (and lasting) trusteeship? Give me a break. GU is a parasite.

GU is straight up embarrassing. Where’s the raise after the payout? He’s handing the ALPA drive up on a platter for this pilot group. If he doesn’t get a contract by end of August I think he’s toast and ALPA will be here soon after

The payout is an excellent idea and everyone I talked to also agrees. Most don't want the risk of it not being paid later. The union is calling the company's bluff since they have been saying they want to just pay it out for a while now. I think the company does want to get it off the books and some attrition after would help them with their overstaffed headcount but we'll see how they play it. A pay rate only after the payout would be a terrible idea but a TA signing bonus instead would fill the gap between then and now.

There is no "he" in terms of getting a TA, if you talk to any of our pilot negotiators they will confirm they are free to TA any sections without higher up approval. They are simply working off of our survey results. The NMB will be watching closely and if company continues to offer below the standard of mesa airlines they will have that status meeting that they are currently still considering.

I agree with what you are saying.

1.) This bonus is getting too high, some pilots are at $200,000 payout now. Just pay it out. If there is no new bonus that's just fine with me, people have been crying about implementing it in the first place as it brought attrition to a halt, the company was going to implement it with or without the union, at least the union got it on paper. Let the attrition tick back up. Either way pilots will be leaving sooner or later. Personally, I don't think the company wants to pay it out right now or maybe even ever. There is pros and cons to them paying it out, no cons for us. I will be happy to be wrong about what the company wants.

2.) We are overstaffed, we used to fly the same number of airframes with 350 less pilots. Obviously the new airframe requires a bigger training department and double the reserves.

3.) The question of whether the negotiating committee needed approval to TA a section came up in the last call, they do not.

4.) The question of the status meeting and the status of the request release is in limbo, its just another rung on the long ladder. At some point the union can just ask for reconsideration if nothing substantial comes from new mediation.
