this is not the NMB hanging anything over both sides heads. This is a total loss. The IBT couldn’t even get a sit down with the NMB for a conference.

Won’t matter anyway. With this news, the ibt is toast. ALPA cards are being signed right after this news. There were several pilots on various chats that were waiting to sign the Alpa card based on us getting released. Now that it’s clear we aren’t getting released it’s only a matter of time before an election.

the next time the GU is in front of the NMB won’t be to advocate for us getting released, it will be to watch the NMB count the votes for Alpa.

I cannot overstate how embarrassing this is GU, JR, and the sycophants: the NMB won’t even give them the courtesy of an in person meeting.

That is spitting right in GU’s face and then laughing at him. They don’t even care if he gets totally embarrassed. What a disgrace.

remember NMB is currently two Dems and one Rep. one dem is former IBT attorney Deidre, the other is Linda Puchala who is union evangelist. The IBT with all their DC power could not get those to even give GU the time of day or the courtesy for sit down. Instead they just ignored our mighty IBT union.

Yep, They treated the South West request this same way. I also hope both sides see this as its time to get the deal done. Guess we will see. Think SWA had a deal done 30 to 45 days into back to the table after Proffer requested. I think the amount of days they agree to meet will be telling. If its a 3 day in July and 3 Day in Aug nothing has really changed.

Yeah it’s exactly the same thing that happened. Hoping we get a deal done then move on from ibt shortly after (end of the year is my hope)

not a chance we get a deal done that soon. We are still at least one year away. I’d be surprised if they even negotiate in July. My bet is maybe one or two days on zoom just to not embarrass the IBT. Remember, we haven’t even started talking about $$$$$ yet.

The new mediator has only met twice with the union and management. We still have a long long way to go.

i still cannot believe the IBT couldn’t get a sit down with the NMB. Like a knife in the back. Hamilton is an IBT in house attorney and she couldn’t give the ibt the time of the day.

Zero chance of anything happening this year. There’s no attrition, no growth, and no hiring. Although I do think the company will be surprised once things start to trend the other way and hiring picks up again at the legacies. Almost all of the new people I’ve talked to are planning to bail out of here ASAP. Once again they’ll find themselves way behind the curve and struggling to staff the operation.

once the legacies pick up you’re gonna have thousands of NB typed Pilots applying. Spirit, frontier, Allegiant, breezie, Avelo, cargo guys, and even JetBlue will be fixing up those log books to jump at the first legacy to offer them.

I agree lots of our junior pilots will be trying to get out but it’s not gonna be as easy as it was in 2023. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if delta started requiring a four year degree again, etc.

management was able to weather storm of 2023 and they’ll never be that vulnerable again unless another once in a generation event like the pandemic happens. Pilots really like the day trips and out and back model. It has absolutely insulated management from some of the worst attrition. Until pilots stop wanting to spend time with their family and sleep in their own bed the attrition won’t be as extreme.

Oh trust me, I wasn’t implying that attrition will somehow get us a contract. Management made it clear in 2023 that they don’t give a crap about attrition. They’ll just reduce the schedule if they need to.

I honestly don’t see how a contract ever happens unless something changes radically.

I absolutely agree with you on that. We are a long ways away. At some point management has to get a deal done but management also knows that this NC doesn’t represent the pilots. They’re unelected sycophants of GU.

We need ALPA or an election, management knows the pilot group is divided, IBT and JR m, GU and graff can scream unity all they want but management knows it’s all fake. We need to elect our leaders and then management will at least know the people in the room represent us. Until that happens there is no chance of any progress (even after we have an election doesn’t mean we get a deal soon but it’s more likely to happen).

Hey IBT. Please let me know when we have a TA to vote in. Guessing 2026 or 2027. At this point everything else is just noise.

didn’t you hear Josh Allen told us on base visits that negotiations are right on track. Totally normal for the industry. 5 years is totally normal as if the last five years didn’t include the pandemic and a once in a generation hiring spree.

Josh, jay, JR, those guys need to pack it up. Nobody trusts them. They’re in way over their head and refuse to push back against Unterseher. They have zero credibility.

Doesn't matter much now tho. It’s too late for them. They’ve made their ibt beds and will be kicked back to the line once we have elections.
