I have an interview on Tuesday and I am kind hoping to get the job. Is there any way to get days off grouped together or is everybody getting 10 days a month on random days a week? I know as a new hire things may be rough for a while but I am single with no house, family or kids so I would realistically go where ever but live just a few minutes from PIE.

Is this always the case or do can you expect to get more days off as you get more senior?

The way the scheduling works right now, it's a crap shoot..I'm junior, have a mixed line with three days of reserve and two three day breaks, 13 days total plus 4 moving days at the beginning of the month. Tuesdays and Saturdays...then who knows

The pilots in my base all work together on schedules. If you need a big group of days off you can get it. Just a pain having to email everyone to get it done. But as said before DO NOT expect the company to build you a schedule with lots of days off in a row. I have 15 days off this month.... Lucky me

You need to understand the business model if you come here. In general very few flights tues, wed, sat; lots of flights the other days. So there's your 2 or 3 days off per week. Very hard to break out of this pattern unless you're very senior or maybe in a slow month like September. Staffing is not sufficient to give everybody a bunch of days off in a row with this model. A base like LAS you might have something like 28 of 30 pilots have to work sundays & fridays. Unless a contract is reached that mandates a certain staffing number that would allow pilots more flexibility I would not expect this to change.
OAK has 3 crews; historically in the winter they have dropped it to 1 or 2 and TDY'd the others.
