For you Allegiant guys/gals, is it true that the airline gets subsidized by or incentives from the casinos there in LAS?

No Allegiant gets no subsidized help anywhere. We do make money selling hotel rooms with many of the casinos in LAS. We have Hotel deals in all our hub cities. We are one of the top three hotel wholesalers in the LAS market.

Couldn't that conceivably be called a kickback? Not that that would be any different from other airlines doing the same thing with car rentals and hotels, but I would have to assume that the casinos would give a bigger slice to the airline because they have so much more to gain than say a hotel in Omaha served by XYZ Airline.

I take subsidized by someone as getting them to pay x amount to fly specific cities or being financed by casinos like National was. We do much the same as expedia they allow us to sell their hotel rooms which we package with our flights and we get to share in the profit of booking the room for them. Allegiant operates as a travel company which owns an airline.

My brother has websites that sell Harley biker shirts he has a deal with Hotel's dot com and if someone books a hotel through one of his sites he gets 10% of the profit.

With allegiant and my brother they are getting paid for bringing the customer to their partner.

We also do rental cars.

Allegiant makes it money by booking vacation packages with Hotel, flights, and rental cars. We also sell eveything onboard, which includes things like Vegas Show Tickets.

It seems to an outsider like me that Allegiant gets a good deal of "subsidy" from paying awfully low rates to employees. I am not going to bag on Allegiant but are you guys going to get paid what you are worth one of these days? I know your contract is coming due next year...are you going to go for better pay and benefits or do you just consider Allegiant a stepping stone to a better job? I don't know much about the internals of Allegiant so I am curious. Not trying to flame.

Jumpseated with G4 several times. You guys/gals do a nice job. Thanks for taking good care of a jumpseater commuting to work!

The 'nay-sayers' on these forums always like to take stabs at the new kid(s) on the block. I hate to break it to you big airline guys/gals out there; people prefer low cost. Keep up the good work!

I dont believe they are union, but they do have some sort of in house group that looks out for the pilots. If they could get together and unionize and sign a decent contract it would be a great place to work.....I know some guys over there and they seem happy. I thought of applying but I cant afford to work there with what they pay the first year.

They "may" be happy now.... Wait until some other start-up comes in and offers even lower fairs..... I know, it could not happen.... New airline lower pay! That being said.... You have to feed the cycle.. I mean your family.
