A day in the life at Allegiant?
Can some Allegiant guys/gals answer some of these questions?
1. What is the average duty day like?
2. Do the morning shifts go really senior?
3. Are there any long sits at the outstations?
4. Is it paper bidding? PBS? What does a jr line holder's schedule look like?
5. What's an average junior line's credit time? & TAFB?
as a side note question: Why do you think Allegiant is successful with day trips when every other airline feels the necessity to run 4 day trips?
Thanks!

1. What is the average duty day like?
Show up 1hr before your flight, 40 minute turn, and come home. Some days are 4 legs.
2. Do the morning shifts go really senior?
Depends on the base and time of year. AM tends to go junior in the summer in the west coast bases.
3. Are there any long sits at the outstations?
Not generally.... I think LAS has one turn that is built to swap airplanes with SFB and has a 2 hour sit. Just about every turn is 40 or 45 minutes.
4. Is it paper bidding? PBS? What does a jr line holder's schedule look like?
All paper.... Jr line holder line will be different at each base. Min days off are 11 for a line holder and hours don't vary that much from senior to junior.
5. What's an average junior line's credit time? & TAFB?
Time credit will be different month to month and vary by base. An IWA junior line may be in the 90s each month while a LAS line may be in the 90s half the year and 70s or 80s the rest of the time. We're a seasonal airline... TAFB-- if your day is blocked at 7:00, your TAFB will be 8:40, which includes the 1 hour prior to departure show time.

We do day trips because of our business model. In and out of a city once a day, a few days a week. 4 day trips don't work for us with this model.
Thanks!

Tryful, I'm thinking about going to the job fair if I can get the time off... how much weight do you think it carries in getting an interview?
Thanks so much for the answers MD80driver. Sounds like a decent gig.

Great info! A few more questions...
1) About how long can a new hire expect to be on reserve?
2) Are there opportunities for those on reserve to pick up trips? ie aggressive reserve or pick up on your days off?
3) What is the reserve system like? Shifts? About how many reserves per base?
4) Are there several vacancy bids each year? How difficult is it to change bases?
Appreciate the input!
