Think of the disparity in airlines, if we reverse the question. Would any JB, 10 plus year captain consider leaving for G4?

I agree, I think working at G4 would be much more stressful and risky than JB over the course of your career. JB isn't going anywhere, worst case you end up on a legacy's seniority list.

Default Undecided Allegiant vs JetBlue

JetBlue all day, I am at JetBlue and have a few pals over at G4, all are trying to leave including one who has skipped upgrade for a least a year or two. Long term I would jump to Jetblue and move to a base and enjoy the experience versus trying to hustle left and right . That is if you can afford the initial pay cut . Living in base does mean a lot , but how likely is your base to ever close ? JetBlues bases are pretty solid , I can't imagine any if them shutting down. Of course anything can happen over time. We have many things to fix here at B6 but from the horror stories I here from G4, you are treated much more like a human than most.. This also coming from a guy who was lucky to only sit reserve for 4 months . So my schedules and life style have been pretty easy compared to some .

What would you do?
I am 47 years old and don't have much vested in AAY
Well you took the time to fill out an app and interview at JetBlue so you must have been interested.
You have 18 years left where do you want to spend it?
I doubt JetBlue goes away and as others have said if we do we will be bought by someone.
With a new CEO and some new ideas coming along I think JetBlue can be a strong airline with a good CBA but I work there so I better think that way.

Agreed with the others. JetBlue and don't look back. Even rats are smart enough to leave a sinking ship.

Having worked at Allegiant (and now Spirit) I would say go to JB and don't look back, it seems like JB at least is trying to run a professional operation.

Curious, in your first post you said you were a captain, but you also say you're new. Is upgrade that quick at G4?

FYI...Jetblue has less than 100 retirements over the next 9 years. Only 10 captains retiring from LGB over the next 15 years. Seniority is gained here mostly by growth. There will be attrition on the bottom third of the list over the next several years as the legacies will be hiring.

JB is definitely not a bad place to be. Hopefully we can get some things fixed in our first CBA.

Good luck with your decision.
