Did this not happen to PIT with airways? They had the market there too?

If you're in a base and the flying switches to another aircraft the majority of guys can bid the new fleet. Or they can displace with no lock-in. The company typically takes a long term view to avoid massive displacements (furloughs, big drawdowns or fleet retirements excluded) and builds the new fleet slowly to avoid displacements.
But the flying, excluding PHX, is probably going to be pretty stable. Except for the new Asia city pairs a lot of the flying has been done for years if not decades. S.A., with their economic issues, has taken a hit in the last several years.
Switching alliances for LUS might generate some changes but so far I don't recall any.

You got it. If PHL closes there are HUGE changes happening. None of that is on the horizon right now.

"Platform...."
I'm still getting a chuckle from this.
The OP needs to apply to delta. Their pilot selection process is custom made for someone so far up His own ass that he thinks an aurliner is some kind of damn platform......
Just spout out "moderate turbulence!!" at least 3 times randomly during that delta interview-and you will be guaranteed to get hired!

Give the guy a break.....there's a whole different vocabulary in Military flying, and he probably hasn't been exposed to a lot of civilian aviation terminology......we all knew what he meant.

Still funny.
I get it.... But "platform?" That's just way too over the top, unless you are Iceman (and will insist on being called "iceman" in new hire class.). I mean really..... If an airliner is a 'platform,' what does this guy drive to work? A half track?
(Gotta run, I am cleared in hot!)

Sorry but it would not take a tremendous amount of research or effort to figure out the differences between the military world and the civilian world. If your going to bring your military crap into somewhere it doesn't belong then expect to be singled out as a joker!!

Give the guy a break though, this is a dead horse at this point.
