I don't think "prudent judgement" is one leaving yourself one chance to get to work on time. I always left myself two flights to get to base when I commuted.

Good thing you're not a CP who interprets the contract then. I've had to use the new commuter clause before. The CP had no problem with me giving myself one flight.

If you want to give yourself 10 flights to get work then more power to you. But don't sit on here and tell people it's mandatory, because it isn't.

Why stop at "only" two. Why not give yourself 3 or even 4 flights. That's more prudent.

I'm going to start commuting in a month prior to all my trips. That's excellent judgment.

Yeah I must have been "doing it wrong" because it worked for me the years I had to commuted.
So now you don’t plan on using the Jumpseat booking but book it anyway screwing the guy who was planning on taking the flight but can’t so now he has to book the Jumpseat six hours prior to know he’ll get to work.

Yet he claims everyone else was the problem. How can one be so out of touch?

It's a trend in all of his posts. Part of the toxic culture here.

The sooner guys like him retire, the sooner we can start making real progress.

Don’t think he’s even flowed yet if he’s still a 190 captain.

You only have to be as reliable as the airline you work for! Leave yourself a backup if commuting off-line lol.
