Default E-190 Pay difference question

So fleet assignment is based on age in the new hire class. I am pretty young, so much so that I am sure I would be almost last pick which I am sure would be the E-190 as I am sure no one wants on that fleet because of the pay difference second and 3rd year on that fleet. What do you do if you are assigned this fleet and essentially making first year pay for a few years while everyone else gets to go on and start making the big bucks??

Are there any classes where no one goes to the 190? 737 and 320 only?
Any insight? Thanks

Seems that most 190 slots are sought after by flow throughs from Piedmont Airlines who are already PHL based. Allegedly the 190 is going away soon.

If you happen get it, bid off of it as soon as possible if you don’t want to be stuck with 190 pay for years (or until the fleet leaves service with AA).

Bid off the plane as soon as possible. Virtually nobody gets their ideal assignment from indoc, so they'll teach you how to put in your preference bid for other bases/equipment in the first couple days. In initial training your lock-in to your equipment is only six months. With all the new hires that will be junior to you at six months you should be able to bid to a different aircraft. If you are withheld (awarded your preference based on seniority but unable to go due to manning or other reasons), you will be paid the higher pay rate beginning at your withheld date (you get 737/AB rates even if you're stuck on the 190).

Not in the last 5-6 classes

Do you have an offer? Not many OTS people and the flows are getting younger.

Actually there weren't many PHL based Piedmont flows until now. The reason many Piedmont people took the 190 including me was the fact you got of reserve very, very fast.
I sat reserve for 2 months and moved up fast! Put my bid in for the BUS PHL and was awarded it fast and boom Group II pay with a great schedule. They are still holding me and I'm about to hit 3rd Pay and enjoy an awesome QOL. Great pay and great schedule equals winning. Many of the flows that commuted started realizing that the 190 was the plane to take if you wanted a QOL as a commuter.

I'm gonna be sad when they release me, however I'll be bidding nicely once I go over to the BUS in Philly.

If you get the 190 and commute you'll find it's not a bad deal at all.

You make less money than those on other fleets, but enjoy a higher quality of life due to relative seniority.
