OR

400 hours of credited hours of work and completion of 1st recurrent training course.

Since recurrent is now a 12 month cycle. It will most likely end at 12 months from INDOC start date.

Other things you should know, unlike other carriers,, there is NO 401(k) direct contribution from the company until you have 12 months of service with the company. If you spent 12 months at a wholly-owned regional of AA, that does count.

2nd year pay does not begin until 12 months after planned completion of your LOE (check ride). You will know that date (CLASification date) when you select your plane and base in INDOC.
I'm glad I was LUS, because we got 401(k) contributions from day 1. Of course, I also got paid $40/hour back then too, so...

Did AA invite spouse on day 1 or 2 in the past?

Ok, so basically pass probation to get the 401(k) contribution. That'll definitely be a hit on the first year take home pay for those who want to save for retirement.
Thank you, appreciate the answers.

I thought AA got rid of the year 2 pay being based a year after the checkride thing and that new hires got the LUS way? I had no clue about no 401k the first year either. Yuck.

I wish. Though I was a flow so the 401k wasn't delayed. The pay would have been great. I got a late training date in indoc, so my 2 year pay was almost a month after everyone else in my class. Later after being here a few years I have heard the LAA group is famous for " eating their young" with nonsense like the 401k and year 2 pay.

At this rate there is no point in negotiating to fix those 2 issues when they’lll eventually probably give it to us for free just to compete with other majors’ hiring

Haven't found this anywhere; is American's training AQP? And have things started getting backed up in the training department with the surge in hiring recently?

Thanks in advance; interview coming up and just want an idea of what to expect should I get a CJO.
