Delta’s “swap board” is way less flexible in ATL than AA’s TTS in DFW, (each megahub for easy comparison). Talk to some folks.

It’s been said before and apparently it bears repeating…pick a small base and status (ORD 73 for example), and you’re just not going to have as much OT or other pilots to trade with, plain and simple. That goes for any airline.

For those on the outside, as for AA and TTS (Trip Trade System)…it’s a spectrum. On one far end of the spectrum you have pilots not willing/wanting to learn how to use it or put in the effort to use it who also work in small bases who “can’t trade their trips!” (after only looking at the real time options a single time on one day) and on the other end of the spectrum you have junior pilots in the mega hubs who learn the system and use the batch runs and real time features to turn over their schedule every month as soon as they hit 85%.

Everyone else falls somewhere in between.

Anybody say Heat Map? I mean, yeah. Cmon. It'll make it all better

I've read all and watched all the TTS info.
I honestly don't post or try to trade too often. My bid is usually what I want.

Drop? Haha no. I've never had anything more than a turn be green to drop.

Most of my TTS is picking up what guys have posted. Handful of TTOTs but those are same length sequences over the same days.

Sub 30% in an avg size Bus base FWIW

probably depends on base etc. I’m MIA 320 FO, had a 3 day turn green that I dropped, have another 2 day green and a 1 day green still for this month. All my trips are tradable, even 4 day for a 1 day or 2 day etc. I like my trips I get from PBS so don’t need much done but I have many options.

Question for you guys.

Two people at AA told me that your TTS doesn't allow you to trade sizes of trips. As an example, if you have a 4-day trip and there are 2 2-day trips in open time over the same exact calendar days, you can't swap that because the TTS is 1960s software and can't figure it out. Any truth to that?

Also, can you drop/swap reserve days? Thanks.

As I said from post above, I think it’s base and seat dependent. I’ve swapped many times higher days trips for lower. Or traded. I have a 4 day trip that’s tradable for a 2 day currently and even had a 1 day option earlier this week.

You need to list what base you want to go to, totally dependent on that. But on the whole the pilot group is very unhappy with the current state of our trip trading (or lack of)

You can absolutely swap down to a smaller footprint, or completely drop the trip. The software has no technical limitations for any of that. The problem is the company's insistence on keeping things (reserve requirements?) locked down such that many bases/seats have little or no ability to trade or drop. But it's not a software issue.
