I think UA is a house of cards. Kirby is obsessed with sticking it to his rivals and former bosses at AA and he's in a race with them to outcompete on the "bigger is better" scale. Their overhead is already massive and I don't think they have the premium revenue to support it in the long run. Nevertheless they're over leveraging badly in this expansion and UAL has a long history of spending like drunken sailors until the day the music stops. The next time that place collapses it's gonna be ugly. I wouldn't want to be in the bottom 50% over there.
When it comes to international, United has some great hubs that captures international premium demand. ORD, EWR, IAH all solid hubs for international premium demand. SFO and LAX is down due to Asian demand being down. Our WB order is targeted as a 756 and 777 PW replacement, so only growth of gauge for the time being. |

I’m not doom and gloom for AA. Anything that negatively impacts AA will likely impact the rest of the industry too. And I think your airline is going to transform itself more than others in the coming years due to your management and due to poor representation from APA.

American Airlines used to do wide body international, and they were damn good at it. Most of us who have been in this industry a while remember AA DC-10, A300, and 767 Luxury Liners flying all over the world.
But then they were taken over by US Air. US Air was a hodgepodge domestic/regional airline conglomeration that was scared of wide body international and never more than dipped their toes in it. And that brought us the "American" of today, which is AA in name only, like a little boy wearing his dad's old shoes. |

And yet the LAA pilots gave Doug a standing ovation when he addressed them about the merger. Life must have been AAwesome over there. The land of milk & honey. Superior. Please repeat it 47 times.
They were called to and stood at attention and saluted. |
