Interviewing in a couple weeks, does anyone know when the first available ground school will be?

AllYourBaseAreB 01-18-2022 06:13 AM

4 weeks later at the earliest unless someone drops out of an earlier class is my guess

Skycap876 01-18-2022 07:00 AM

Does anyone know if we are supposed to complete the pria record section of the pilot credentials website? I was offered an interview and wondering if it needs to be completed before.

Yes. Complete, make copies, notarize the NDR request and bring them with you.

The instructions will eventually direct you to upload scanned copies of all PRIA and background check docs. Don’t forget the notary for the NDR…

With all the hiring coming up, what's realistically considered a competitive resume? I imagine TPIC and BA? anything else? Are the flows being maximized? thanks

like others have said before. TPIC is no longer king.

TPIC will move your resume to the top of the list, but it is not required anymore.

Those getting hired without TPIC have very good other things on their applications.

"Success Factors" login

Hi - anyone know what to do with the "Success Factors" account after you create it? I received the interview invite and selected a date on Pilot Credentials. However, instructions don't seem very clear - I reset password and added basic personal information, but when you select careers/job applications it takes you back to the AA Pilot Credentials site. Am I overthinking this?

WarCriminal28 01-19-2022 08:05 AM

Is AA requiring new hires to get the vaccine?

I sure hope so. We have enough anti vaxxer conspiracy nuts at the airline already.

They ask for a scan of your COVID-19 vaccination card in the initial slew of post-invite, pre-interview documents.

BOS

I saw a few drops ago BOS 73 went to new hires. Is BOS still pretty senior? Timeframe to hold it and upgrade? With the NEA and a
DL making a big push in BOS any thoughts on it staying a base long term?

thanks

yes, but it sounds like they will except exemptions as well.

Skycap876 01-19-2022 11:34 AM

I thought after the recent ruling by the supreme Court not requiring employers to vaccinate that AA is also not requiring its employees to vaccinate.

Recently was there for an interview, and it was never brought up.

Didn’t affect AA or their decision at all

seems to be changing palpably quarter over quarter if not month over month. They are hiring everyone with X qualifications faster than that group can be regrown and then moving to the next pasture. In the fall it was LCA’s getting multiple offers. Now it’s plain captains.

Best interview prep? currently a 320 Capt at a ulcc with a interview coming up.

I hear Judy Tarver at Pilot Counseling Services is highly recommended. I believe she was formerly on the hiring team or maybe HR at AA. I did Emerald Coast and thought it was great too.

You really can’t go wrong with any of them for this interview. Low stress all around. I used Spitfire and got the CJO.

I would certainly recommend Judy Tarver for AA’s interview.

Just curious what time frame people are seeing from applying to interview invite?

2 weeks to never.

Leftseatbound 01-21-2022 07:40 AM

Almost 3 weeks and 🦗 for me. Beginning to think I’m one of those “never”

Rroku 01-21-2022 07:50 AM

Giving up hope after just three weeks? That's it?

Welcome to the "me" generation. They are not used to waiting for things they want. They blame their parents I guess

I used to feel the same way, but man this hiring environment is changing a lot of the rules. A good buddy decided to jump from Part 91 to Delta. Nobody else, just Delta. Dragged his feet on getting his app in because he wanted to get his ducks in a row with his owner first. I kept telling him the sooner the better because who knows how long it'd take to get a response (if any) and he should also throw his stuff into everyone else that had a base where he lived (which is essentially everyone). Nope, just Delta. He finally applied, had the online assessment a couple days later, and an invite to an interview by the end of the week. Absolutely blew my mind. He's a great hire for Delta, but I feel like an old man because all the conventional wisdom seems to be wrong.

7+ months in my case.

Setspeed 01-21-2022 11:02 AM

Uhh I updated my app every week for 3 years if it makes you feel better. Then again, I needed every hour in my logbook to get the interview.

4 years for me. With consistent updating

Almost 10 years.

Mulligan Please 01-22-2022 07:19 AM

There was a RJ pilot on Facebook saying he applied and got the invite the very next day. He claims no LCA, no LORs, nothing just 500 TPIC at a 121 and 4500 TT. Absolutely bananas… feverishly checks junk mail and emails again.

Do they fly for a WO??

I believe a non-AA WO. Endeavor?

icohftb 01-22-2022 11:19 AM

A few questions for people whove gotten the invite:

1. How long after selecting a date and doing the work traits did it take them to send follow on instructions?

2. Did the Work Traits, PRIA, and other tabs go away? Mine did for some reason.

The conventional wisdom is wrong…for now, but it will cycle back some day.

Im trying to figure out why you’d want this, how you see this as a good thing. What is the value added of a vax mandate for new hires? Because it sounds like you want it only to filter out the people based on your perception of their politics maybe. Rather than you believe unvaxxed are dangerous. Maybe it’s both, I’m genuinely curious, because I don’t know many people who are for this, and haven’t met a single pilot for it.

I actually see dropping the mandate as a competitive hiring advantage for AA…and they need it in this environment while trying to hire 2500 pilots in a year.

EDIT…maybe I misread you and you’re just joking

Inclined plane 01-22-2022 04:09 PM

Isn’t the Republican far right FOR the vax and booster? Trump got them both, so yeah ….
