Doesn't matter which group is hosting the conference, although you have a chance of getting a spot interview/CJO if you fit the host group. At least that was the case a little over a year ago. The person who interviews you at the conference will take your resume and put a letter/number/symbol on it. It seems like there are marks for definitely hire, maybe hire, and don't hire. Later they review all of the resumes and your online application. After a while--could be a few days, could be a few weeks--they send out interview invites. I was fortunate enough to get an interview invite about a week after I attended a conference. I had checked most of the application boxes but it seems going to the conference is what got my app pulled. Best $500 I ever spent. Good luck! |
100% agree with Flyguy. If you are trying to get hired I highly recommend going to as many conferences as you can. Schedule your meet & greets ahead of time if the conference allows it. Well, I signed up for a slot in the women in aviation although I'm not a woman so we will see how it goes. I also have the Envoy derogatory mark so I'll give it a shot.

I hit 1000 part 121. 2500 total. 1300 turbine. No college degree. All civilian. 1st generation pilot. Let's see what happens. I see AA as the leader in promoting
diversity and growth of all backgrounds. However it seems it's always the military folks, high time, and majority that get the call back. Minorities have a tougher time it seems. |
