Default January 2022’s Accelerated Negotiations

Does anyone have any news from this? The co-signed letter announcing the marathon negotiation sessions seemed fairly optimistic.

I’m not optimistic. I think they’ve agreed to some minor points, and a few general ideas. Haven’t even touched pay, yes I know, work rules are important, but we need a 9% raise right off the bat, just to recover our spending power of 2019. That’s just to break even with inflation and not including retro.

If you are new here (and this applies to any airline really), just plan for zero improvements, and if they come great, if not, you’ve managed your expectations.

If you’re an AA pilot, there have been lots of comms from the NC regarding negotiations.

For outsiders, there’s not much to share. AA mgmt is being its usual self- inept, incompetent, and trying to slow roll. APA in-fighting and its own flavor of incompetence hasn’t been helping much.

A lot of folks are taking an “I’ll believe it when I see it” mentality.

They were too busy picking up premium trips to bother showing up to the negotiations.

After reading the emails from a couple of the domicile reps that seem to finally understand what is going on, we are probably even further from a new contract than we were before the "marathon" session started.

The negotiating committee and most of the national board are completely unaware what is going on and what the pilots actually want. Anything that they put forward for a vote will fail miserably.

We won’t be seeing a TA anytime soon with oil prices spiking, the company’s position is basically take our offer or nothing. Same thing happened at United if I’m not mistaken. All the majors will drag their feet until oil stabilizes and business travel comes back.

So you’re saying it was more of a recruiting tool to be posted on AeroCrew news? 😉

What’s the LCA staffing been like? Seems like that could be a major driver of the discussions absent other world events.

Default Work Rules and yeah...Pay.

https://www.dallasnews.com/business/airlines/2022/02/28/american-airlines-just-doubled-the-salary-of-incoming-ceo-robert-isom/?outputType=amp

As stated earlier, and in reference to the above article, we should at least be working that 9%...

At least 20%. Anything under 10% is just trying to catch up to inflation and not a raise.
