Default Airbus or 737

If you were given a choice as a newhire living in DFW which fleet would you pick?

Thanks

Airbus. The flying and aircraft are better. Eating cheese plates is a pain without a tray table.

Is seniority pretty much the same?

Senority is roughly the same on both aircraft in DFW. I'd bid the Airbus personally.

How about LAX? Which one has a better schedule and better seniority to get off reserve in a short amount of time?? If I can't get LAX out from training. Which one would get me back faster? Thanks!

Thanks for the quick response. Is the bus schedule that much better to bid the bus in say MIA if only the 737 was available in DFW?

I've been told you could get any base within a few months so wondering if a short time commute would be worth it.

My class had DFW 737 so that’s what I bid and got. A month or two later there were DFW 320 slots to new hires. I was thinking about bidding the 320 but I’m glad I chose not commuting. I like the 737, despite its small cockpit. I think I’ll stay on it. The 321 does tend to do longer segments such as transcons, but you’ll also fly the 319 which is does lots of short flights or long flights on thin markets. Both aircraft have a wide variety of trips to both coasts, Central America, Caribbean, and even S America. Keep in mind DFW 737 is all international division. DFW 320 has both I and Domestic divisions. Not a huge deal though.

You can always bid out to the bus, but you’ll lock yourself for 2 years into it unless you upgrade first.

LAX right now is fairly stagnant. I probably wouldn't bid over to LA unless you lived there. I used to be based there and I liked the flying out of LAX minus the red eyes.. but now it doesn't have the movement that it used too. The flying I'm sure will come back but for now I'd avoid if you're looking for quick movement.

How tall are you? Do you more closely resemble Napoleon or Lincoln. That will guide your answer.
