If the bucket system is anything like it was at PSA...It will be a huge hit to QoL for reservists. That is my experience on the bucket system and it sucked a fatty. A buddy at DAL said they have a bucket system and it works well, so I guess it depends on how its implemented. I didn't really ask more than that. Either way, vote No.

Oh I know (and vocalized my dissatisfaction with it) same as electronic notification and 60 something other items. If they can't implement classification date, what makes you think they have the bucket system ready to roll out? Tech debt anyone? What else in the TA do we have to gain besides hourly pay, LTD, and RA pay in this contract? I just have no faith in APA. I was a wait for the language kind of guy to maybe keep an open mind. This TA is better than the failed one, but falls short. Plain and simple. But make sure you put on your big boy pants and vote yes for Bobby.

The bucket system has been at DAL for awhile now, longer than about 2/3 of the seniority list, so most have nothing to compare. DAL's reserve assignment system basically has very little to no seniority influence due to the bucket system. Before the bucket system, was way easier for a senior reserve to remain out of the line of fire, with the bucket system, everyone is usually in target range for assignment.

People who rave about the bucket system used it in the good old days when reserves weren't flying as many hours as line holders (or more). There isn't a month that goes by when 2/3 of our reserves are already at guarantee or more. Will the bucket system solve that? I don't know. My view is that if the company had determined that a bucket system would be better for them than what we use now and it is in our current contract, they would have implemented it a long time ago.
