I've done 11 years of Airbus training in CLT. I did one recurrent in DFW last year. There are + and - to both, and I much prefer CLT to DFW, and not because I live local. IMO, CLT has a more relaxed atmosphere than DFW, but CLT has less ancillary resources (cafeteria/on site food options / quality of hotels nearby with food/entertainment options). I'm not saying that the quality of training is any different from one to the other, but I just prefer CLT. Most of the other pilots you'll see in CLT are regional guys and gate agents doing training. There's 4 (has the 5th one been built yet?) Airbus sims there now, so a much smaller physical footprint - nowhere near like the maze that is THE SCHOOLHOUSE.

I'll echo what others have said, if you can drive to either, pick that one. Request the one that has the easier commute for you if you need to fly in.

Train in CLT. Go to McKoy's and get the double grilled Bar-balo wings. Thank me later.

Would you mind elaborating?

It's A1 now to and from training (first day and last day) also. I'm pretty sure PHX is now also open for initial training, albeit only for PHX (and LAX?) based crews. PHX has also CQT, of course.

FYI, it’s only A1 from training if booked 7 days in advance. Otherwise must use an A3.

How so?

Side note: in my Indoc class there was someone who lived in CLT and got DFW for training, and someone who lived in DFW and got CLT. The usual training admin / schedulers wouldn't give them the time of day when it came to switching, but one emailed the head of training (now no longer with the company) directly and she had it changed for them inside of 20 min. YMMV.
