?
AA has $8b in unrestricted cash or cash equivalents. Generally what a corporate raider would do is purchase the company for $x, then take out additional debt against the company's revenue to fund the buyout, and give themselves a large payout while stripping the cash out of the company.
Could AA take on even more debt? I'm sure we could tempoarily enough to give the new owner a nice profit. I'm not worried about it but to dismiss it as impossible would be nieve IMO.

[QUOTE=APCHCLIMB;3835825]He ain’t wrong. Just like all the experts who spoke about MRNA vaccines etc.
Or did we forget all the nonsense that happened in those 2 1/2 years?[/
Why in the world would you bring vaccines into a financial discussion? Come on man.

First off, quit reading any news about the airline. There is not ONE. SINGLE. THING. you can do to change the financial course of any airline, let alone AA.
Taxiing on one engine...nope.
Not starting the APU in DFW or MIA and roasting the crew and pax...nope.
Flying at the VERY highest altitude for your (estimated) given weight...nope.
None of that $#!t matters one bit. BTDT and my airline still lost money.
Now, the union needs (yeah, I know, hilarious...) to see if they can put pressure on the AA BOD to not promote another AWA ass clown to CEO when Isom "leaves to deal with family matters". AWA wasn't exactly tearing up the world when they bought USAir (who wasn't exactly tearing up the world) and AA (who wasn't tearing up the world, either).
There has to be someone out there who can competently manage an airline. But, maybe not and AA promotes the highest ranking bean counter waiting in the wings whose first (and only trick) is to....wait for it... cut costs! I can't wait for the corporate buzz words to flow during the first press conference.
Go have fun, enjoy your cash and quick upgrades and understand that nothing good ever lasts and the bad stuff always lasts longer than you think it will. Prepare accordingly.
