I did my Airbus Initial at the Skyview 6 and actually preferred it. My reasons were thus: I love having the GYM right there as that is part of my lifestyle. I really enjoyed the convenience of being only a 10-minute walk to the training center, so I could go back and forth easily and wasn't van-dependent. The company cafeteria on the property wasn't all that great. Still, I typically either got a ride across the 4 lane to one of the many eating places over there or just ate in my room from the groceries I had purchased at the local Walmart upon arrival. I liked the company Bar, while not cheap, it's kinda cool, but it does close early.
Anyway, one person's trash is another's treasure, I guess.

Pubs is telling people that the only training hotel contract they have now is with the landings and are refusing requests to switch out of that panopticon.
So remember guys, you're on company property, and are expected to follow company rules 24/7 while there.
No visitors/family/beer in your rooms.
Limited hours at the cafeteria, so when you get out of a late sim, hit the vending machines.
Wear your ID to the company bar, gym and at all times you aren't in your room.
Don't look up anything that would get you in trouble with HR on their internet.
Too far to walk anywhere.
Welcome to boarding school.
...I particularly want to thank our illustrious union for allowing this to become a mandatory part of our lives.

Big Brother blah blah blah.
Wake me up when someone actually gets disciplined for any of these things.
This! And the 90% chance of getting both food poisoning and your catalytic converter stolen.

You don't need to wear your ID in the gym, right? (just need it to get in, last time i was there). Also, its the nicest free gym I've ever seen. Yes, you can't have alcohol in rooms. The bar is downstairs. It's a really nice place to stay while getting paid. IDK. The hotels we stay at on the road are sometimes ****ty. That seems like a more worthy fight.

Big whoop. Would rather stay at a real hotel where I am actually off work.

just curious, but what is it you’d do differently at a “real hotel” that you can’t do at the company lodging that would make you feel like you’re off work? Do you feel like you’re off work on layovers at “real hotels”?
