Quick reserve question: I’m an early 2023 hire, PBS just opened for July and I’m 449 out of 410 lines in CLT on DA BUS. Think that could get me a line if I’m flexible? Been jumping on reserve this summer to get weekends off but I’d like a break from bidding it. No biggie if I need to wait a bit more but I’m wondering what my odds are here.

check the PBS 3XP on the APA site for previous months and the same month last year. I would say chances could be very good, with the possibility of a hybrid line. But in months with a higher LCW reserve staffing generally goes up and line holders go down. Reserve also trends more junior in heavy months.

Oh cool I didn’t know this existed but I always wanted access to the info. Cheers!

I could have gotten a line this month, oops.

Edit: The worst line I’ve ever seen, but still.

That's the risk, getting a line that only has 13 days off with min credit trips that you won't be able to trade out of. Might as well work reserve at that point.

Especially with what the crummier sequences in Charlotte are turning into. Extra legs tacked onto transcons and red eyes after multiple 11+ duty days, no gracias.

Probably but please wake me up when the people senior to me figure it out.

I got a five day with two super late nights, two transcons, and the last day is CLT LAX DFW. I made the PBS gods angry.

I should keep my mouth shut, but can’t help myself.

Junior lineholders that are flying their awarded lines and b!tching about it simply don’t know how the game works.

PBS? Don’t even care what my award is. Never fly those trips.

Agreed, PBS bid takes me 3min. TTS and DOTC is all it matters to me.
now, 5 years from now when I’m actually somewhat senior…..different story :D

I haven't flown a PBS trip in 5 months, but June was locked down. I couldn't swap it down, trade, or drop anything.
