You win. You’re the most in-touch and smartest of everyone ever.

Merry what ever holiday/feeling/season you subscribe to.

been there done that. The AA system is much better, although I’m no longer commuting and have only NRSA once, just AA20 these days 🤷🏽‍♂️

Just wanted to highlight an item to anyone considering coming to AA. American Eagle regional wholly owned pilots have the same non rev (D2) priority as mainline AA pilots. Everything is priority by time of check in. We have priority for the jumpseat on our own aircraft of course, but a PSA/Piedmont/Envoy pilot or employee can beat a 35+ year AA captain for a non rev (D2) seat in the back on their own metal! This would be laughable to Delta pilots who protect their own. Delta Connection pilots do not receive any benefit to this level, not to mention they also never receive profit sharing. I find that AA/APA has a total push over attitude towards fighting for their own pilot group. This is not an attack on the regional folks, just an observation that we readily allow our benefits to be diluted compared to other legacy pilot groups.

The same can be said about seniority based non-rev privileges; the old "I dare someone junior to me get a seat first". There are no perfect system, but AA has a decent system in place, despite some flaws.

That would make a lot more sense, and would be great.

I posted that sad tale above because that exact thing happens at UA. I would even put in a JS request 5-7 days earlier to broadcast my intent, and the same Dbags would show up 30 mins prior to bump me at their convenience.

I once got bumped out of the JS while trying to commute home on the last flight of the night. Nobody else was listed, so Iwas in the actual. We were ready to close and the gate agent came down with paperwork. Then I heard another voice: "sorry man, I need the jump." Turn around to discover a WBCA standing there. "When did you list?!?!" I stammered. "About one minute ago," he replied.

The CA of the flight, to his great credit, gave the WB guy a ****ed off look and then turned to me. "As far as I'm concerned, the jumpseat is yours," and turns to the now-red-faced WBCA. "Captain, next time, you might want to list more than a minute before the door closes."

I was still on probation, so I thanked the CA , grabbed my bag, and told the WBCA "it's all yours...
Captain." Spent the night in a hotel.

We really need some kind of cutoff at UAL for JS listing. 30 minutes prior to push, perhaps ? Not one minute, as is the current policy. These super senior guys pull this nonsense frequently

They are employees of the American Airlines Group (AAG), not American Airlines the subsidiary.

This level of semantics is ridiculous.
