Early in my career I had that "i'll never move there" mindset.
Don't commute.

DFW has been going VERY junior ever since DFW/320 opened up this month. Guys who have been recalled only a couple of months have gotten awarded the 320 almost right away. DFW/737 is also starting to go very junior as well. Heck, this last bid run, a bunch of 2008 recallees have even gotten DFW/767/INTL.
When there is movement, DFW can be awarded pretty quickly, that's what we're currently seeing.

The job will be listed at AA careers, in the same sense that United is posted on their website and then sends candidates to airlineapps.

Whats a red eye schedule like? Is it typically 4 days with a red eye on the last day or is it all red eyes? Or would it be a two day where you fly somewhere overnight 24 hours and redeye it back?
Also, do you guys use a flica opentime trip trade system and can you switch trips between bases?

Yeah but it's almost the same time zone--no jet lag!
But in all seriousness, I enjoy South America and spend plenty of time there, so any opportunity to fly down there would be great. MIA 737 appears to do it's fair share of Latin and Upper South America, too. You ever do MAO on the 737? How was that?
Hey maybe I'll get lucky and get a job there

I've been DFW based for a long time. Our 737's here fly to only Central America and Caracas, along with the Caribbean. Anything deeper, it's wide body.
Our typical wide body trip is DFW-EZE, departs evening around 2000, lands morning in BA. 34 hours on the ground. Depart evening, land 0530 or so DFW. Drive home nodding off, a danger to other motorists.
It's a 4-day on paper. Too much layover, double all nighter. Goes junior.

Ive been on the 767 doing deep south for the last 10 years. 49 years old but I look and feel like 89. It really tears you up. By extension I think all long haul flying is hard on you but it generally gives you the most time off.

It makes sense. I guess they don't pay much either for a 4-day with that much time on the ground.
Too much layover in Buenos Aires? I wish I had that problem. I have too much layover in GRB. Not that there's anything wrong with GRB
Just lookin' forward to applying next week.
