Funny Reuters just posted an article saying a settlement is still possible.

oh yeah, ..... vitamin water?
All of the AA pilots I've talked to (albeit the number is very low) want it to go through. They want to get rid of their management. I believe there was a very small, extremely senior contingent that was opposing it, but I haven't heard anything from them in months.

The East/West thing is not what it seems on the line. It's 5-10% of the loudmouths on both sides that are the most vocal (and they all seem to have internet access). Most of us just want to move on. For example, I don't hear about it on the line at all. I fly on the East and I commute on both sides.

Agreed, however, the AA pilots will get new management either way!
If the merger does not go through then I would wager that DP is offered the CEO position at the new AA. If so, why would he say no?

There has to be a lot more to it than that...jumping into the sack with USAPA is a steep price to pay to get rid of management that would be gone soon in any case.

Ya, but APA out numbers USAPA....they will use that and West votes to strong arm....IMHO it's its time to move on from all of this e-w crap!

They won't be jumping into the sack with USAPA. If/when the merger goes through, we have a timeline of when we'll file single-carrier status and at that point, APA will take over due to shear numbers.
