Just beware....

The hotels have nothing around them for food. (Except a gas station or two.)

For some reason, there are about 5 large hotels within a stone's throw-and absolutely no dining other than hotel food. I have no idea why no one opens more dining joints around there. They could make a killing.

Generally AA Indoc runs from Tues-Sat, 2 days off, then Tues-Sat.....after this you can travel home to await Groundschool/Sim....sometimes the wait can be in excess of a month (fully paid while waiting).

Each ground/sim schedule is different, but generally day 1 you start fairly late to facilitate commuting in, and it shifts earlier and earlier til day 5 when you finish around 10 am (to facilitate going home).

We had people jumpseat the first weekend, with the associated nightmares getting back in time for class....do not be the person to get back late....people are watching.

Welcome aboard

Ps....several different hotels....if you have a car, it doesn't matter. Without a car try to get the Candlewood (you won't need a car, and can always rent one in the weekends)

So, do you not get positive space tickets home during Indoc now?

On the LAA side you get A3 travel that you set up yourself.

I think that was yet another ignored LUS provision.

If you make the A3 reservation ASAP it becomes positive space. You can do it for about 30 days in advance.

Get your schedule, plan your commute, make your A3 listings. It becomes positive space if there are seats available which has always been the case if you don't procrastinate.

How/Who do you call to request a specific hotel?

I wouldn't recommend this if you are a pre-Indoc. The first 3 nights will always be the Hyatt Regrncy DFW, the next nights will sometimes vary, a LaQuinta lately. The entire class will be there and you will not likely change those plans by requesting one over another.

Pubs is the guy to ask about training hotels. You won't get to move your indoc hotel.

If you go up the steps to the sim building at the top of the steps go up the half flight of stairs ahead of you. First door on your left.

Or if you walk down the glass hall go up the first set of steps. Top of the steps you want to go forward about 50-75'. Except there's a wall in your way. Quick left, turn right, and it's the last door on your right before the steps leading down to the sims.

^^^ Once you've been in the building ^^^ that makes sense.

Some guys like the one free beer and breakfast at the regular training hotel (AT). More socializing at the AT bar in the evening.

I prefer the CW for the eating options (Mexican, burger, semi-dive bar, fast food, pizza and at least one I'm forgetting).

Thanks. I'm Indoc complete so familiar with Pubs. I'd heard you want the CW for aircraft training which is what I'm hoping to get set up by calling pubs.
