The issue was LUS got 16% day one, now I think everyone has to wait a year. But you'll make $70k not $35k in the first year so it was a pretty good trade.

For those AA guys who have no clue about the LUS side and keep telling 190 guys they will get to the Majors one day....yes AA has 20 E190's all based in PHL.

Why oh why would I pay union dues to a group that doesn't even know we exist

I've had the following conversation with at least 5 LAA pilots in the past 6 months:

Me: Hi, I'm Kevin. I'm with American and was hoping to catch a ride with you on your Jumpseat.

LAA captain: Sure, no problem. What fleet are you on?

Me: I'm on the E190 in PHL.

LAA captain: Oh, ok. So are you with Republic? *starts looking at my badge for a regional logo*

Me: No, I'm with American.

LAA captain: yes, but which commuter?

Me: I'm mainline.

LAA pilot: *totally confused* Oh...ummm...ok. Well, I'm sure you'll be at mainline soon, son.

It would make sense to put them there or LGA or BOS, as most of the 190 lines are shuttle work. Lots of trips start as a dead head to BOS or LGA followed by four days of shuttle. I had more landings at LGA than PHL during my first year at the airline. Maybe after the SLI they'll open a 190 base in LGA or BOS.

Lots of LAA commuters use it for their commute. I never had any of them confuse us with a regional for what it's worth.

6/6 on the LUS side got E190. The reason is because everyone leaves the 190 after the first year for the AB. In the upcoming classes there will be larger numbers like 10-15 going to the LUS side and then I'm sure not all will be E190.
Out of 50 of us, 16 were returning furloughed pilots, 23 flows and 11 OTS. Of the 11 OTS, about 3-4 were regional and the rest military.
Hope that helps.

They know we exist.

They just take undue pleasure in screwing us.

I've been interested about this, when you picked equipment did you already know who was getting US equipment? There was another poster that said he received an email stating that he would be on the US side, but how do they know before you're in class and the picks are made? For instance, if a flow through that was older in the class lived in PHL and didn't mind going to the 190, wouldn't that throw off the equipment selections, or do you pick prior to class now? Thanks, I've just been wondering how this works now.

Flowthrus get the 16% day 1, as well as vacation accrual based on total length of service with AAG
