I'm counting 715 narrow body aircraft at the end of Q4. Doesn't APA scope only allow for 40% of the narrow body fleet to be large RJs and no more than 75% of the narrow body fleet to be the limit for all RJs? 40% of 715 is 286 large RJs and 75% of 715 is ~536 total RJs. I am not sure exactly how many seat variants there are for the CRJ700 and am unsure how many(if any) classify as large RJs, but in the 1/29/16 fleet update it shows a total of 607 RJs operating at the end of Q4. That is well above the 536 allowed. Am I missing something here or are my 40% and 75% numbers not accurate?
Good question. |

UPT - check out the LUS seniority list on the APA website. It will have the rare data(DOH/DOB). I havn't seen it listed with retirements per year.

You're right. I checked last night. No DOB info.

It's quite time consuming but you can do a member lookup on the APA website and it shows the person's retirement date. East pilots were oldest-youngest in class, so that can help you go through the seniority list a bit faster to figure out who is senior/younger. If it helps I was hired 6/17/14 at 33 and 11 months and there are 202 on the East list younger/senior to me, 15 on the west list, and 32 on the AA list. The youngest in my class was 30 and the average was probably mid 40's. They weren't hiring as many guys in their 20's after summer 2014.

August 2014 was the last Airways hiring class IIRC.

Here is the class sizes and allocation over the last few years if anyone is interested. It is from our flow data, but off the street applicants may find it useful info as well. Just be aware the (Street hires) column from MAY 2015 on, also has a group of flows included from PDT and PSA. I believe up to about 9/month combined is what they get. So the true recent off the street numbers are really less than what they may appear.
