US had a ton of young guys hired in the 2012-2014 time frame before AA took over all the hiring in late 2014.

Interesting. My classmate is 35 and looked on aapilots and it showed him at 64 at retirement. I actually counted the guys younger than me and it was about 113 at LAA. Now that does not include LUS and you are correct that between 2013-2014 LUS hired some younger pilots but I bet no more than 100 under 40 but I'm just guessing. I'll look closer at the ages later today. Either way it's low but no one will know until EOY when they combine the seniority list and then we can all see.
No reason to argue, just trying to give a little SA to folks out there looking at AA and wondering where they might fall in the seniority shuffle in the years to come.

False. There will be OTS in the April 19th class.

And just to avoid confusion, in my world OTS means off the street, a Flow through is a flow through, and a recall is a recall.

LUS hired quite a few pilots in that era under 40. Between 2011(I believe when they started hiring) and the beginning of 2014. This happened before AA started hiring (except the Dec 2013 AA Class). All of these pilots in that era will go ahead of anyone hired at LAA/LUS after the POR Date of Dec 9, 2013.

I'll have to look on the list to confirm how many were hired.

I was hired the first month of 2013, and just turned 30 when I started class. out of 18 in our class, I'd say over half were under 40 and they were running classes every two weeks. My sim partner was 26.

You are correct in that the numbers are technically there. Only problem is, we continue to shrink, then shrink again, then shrink some more.

I've done nothing but go backwards the past few years...

I'm curious too. I can't find anything from LUS that has birth dates or anything useful for projecting retirement position.

Oh yea.. How many pilots does AA have in that age group?

Not sure where you're getting your info but I was told directly by one of the three new hire coordinators. as I mentioned earlier everyone in the pool should have received an email...."expect class late this year, early next year"

Flying101 04-08-2016 07:43 AM

I'm on the AA side.. It's under aapilots >> personal/profile>> seniority calculator.

US had 2 new hire classes in 2007 then some in 2008 also before the furloughs started.

There is a document that has info such as retirement date for anyone hired before 12/2/2013, it gives what number you were on each of the 3 initial proposals(which I know are no longer valid) and what number you would retire at on a combined list based on the proposal

I think I've seen that on the APA site. I'm more concerned with the young people that were hired at LUS in 13-14. Any idea of where to find their DOBs before a single ISL comes out?
