The email USAPA sent out seems to infer that they don't want us to use them until they get a LOA.

I'll just be happy to get rid of those coffee stained jepp books with torn pages and won't have to deal with the air side kits getting squished underneath the seat because some people put the fom and en-route chart books in sideways,

You mean you've gotten one that works for more than a leg and a half?

My question is what happens when you drop it or lose it.

It's weird, I've yet to drop or lose my personal tablet. Maybe I'm just more responsible than most?

Yeah, I'm not following the rampant paranoia here. They give us an $80 million jet every day with no major problems, but people are losing sleep over a $600 tablet?

Personally, I'll pick up and use mine when they come to the Airbus fleet. FAR better than the POS EFBs in some of the non-EOW A319s ... my experience has also been that they remain functional only a small portion of the time. I carry my own iPad for personal use, so I'll keep my photos, music, donkey porn, etc, on that and off the work device. I've successfully kept track of an iPad or laptop for the last several years on the road, so I don't see how this will be any different.

All this talk of "tracking" bothers me the most. You all realize you can disable location services or, you know, turn it off?

Or simply leave it in your hotel room while visiting the house of ill repute.....

Picked mine up this week. Works well I think. Just a little getting used to to have it organized. I like it and looking forward to day two on it.
