"No"thing to Fear.
Lots of excellent debate on what appears to be a no win situation.
However "No" is the answer and I will tell you why.
Over the past decade airline execs had all the wind at their backs. Chapter 11 to destroy our contracts and profession. Little to no retiring pilots and a 5 year stagnation with age 65.
Now the wind is at our backs. Record profits and low jet fuel prices require growth. The upcoming massive retirements will require all hands on deck. Every American pilot going above and beyond each and every day. Even with that level of cooperation, it will be a daily challenge.
A "No" vote may seem to be playing into management's hands, but in reality it sends a crystal clear message. Their position that pilots should continue their concessions during record profits is UNACCEPTABLE.
Doug Parker may think employees don't matter, but he is just not very bright.

Add to Kirby's insult that they actually published his letter on the Wings website (not sure about JetNet). He's now dragging this out for debate in front of the other employee groups, absolutely disgusting.

It's actually a textbook effort to bust APA and if everyone saw this for what it really is, we wouldn't have much of a problem. Sadly, many are falling for it hook, line and flap handle. Hopefully though, we can pull out a majority and save ourselves from stepping over the cliff we are presently at the edge of.

This shouldn't be a surprise. He hired a union-buster to interact with us from the beginning. He and his union-buster so far have used the tried-and-true concepts of divide and conquer, managing expectations, negotiating directly with the membership and the halcyon bedrock of creating FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) in attempting to get a majority to rationalize capitulation.

I always know when someone is bankrupt of a viable and valid rebuttal. They yank out the old "tinfoil hat" claim.
Congratulations on bring tonight's winner in that category !
What's occurring here is beyond obvious, but enablers like you either can't tell the difference or support it from the beginning. We both know you're in the latter category just as you were in your previous regional life.

Yes, another end run around the union to negotiate directly with the pilots (many if whom are clueless dopes). It's standard union-busting strategy.

The company is spending money like it will never end on frivolous things like uniform parties and repainting brand new aircraft. Delta and SWA are going to eat us for lunch if the leadership doesn't get their crap together and start tightening up.
We're buying last decades aircraft new vs used. Other carriers are riding out the low fuel wave using paid for aircraft, paying down debt.
For the conspiracy guys, federal law dictates this sort of guidance, not contract negotiations.
