pay for commuting?

pay for commuting?
I am a LUS pilot who uses AA once in a while to get to/from work. I am surprised to find "space available travel" charges deducted from my pay. Is this something new for this year? I have been using the AA NRTP to list for my flights. I checked my pay stubs for 2014 and have not seen any deductions for previous non-revving.
Am I missing something?

AA used to charge anyone who had less than 5 years longevity to nonrev - coach or first. If you were in the physical Jumpseat up front there was no charge.
But charges for coach for less than 5 years stopped in 2012/2013.

No idea yet, still trying to get hold of someone who can explain those charges to me. Stay tuned and keep checking your pay stubs!

Parents and I believe registered companion pay segment charges based on either coach or premium.
D3/Buddy-passes pay a fee regardless of coach/first.
International for employee/spouse/DP/dependent coach is SERVICE CHARGE free. IE ORD-LHR is free, but LHR-ORD even in coach has some fees due to taxes and government fees.
tldr - if you are commuting on US/AA and in coach or jumpseat, you should not have any charges deducted from your payroll. They DO show up on your epays as just $0.00. If you are in first class, yes, you do pay a service charge.

AA doesn't charge an annual fee to participate in the travel program.

I got a reply from Employee Travel (was in my spam folder hence the late reply): I did use a first class seat. I remember the gate agent telling me that there was a first class seat open, if I'd wanted it. Little did I know that I had to pay for it.
