Is there a min day off for block holders? I didn't think there was. Even reserves get 12/13. A lot of the junior lines were 10 days off and 70 credit.
My commuter had a 12 day off guarantee in it for Pete's sake.

15 days off this month for 83:17. I trip traded and, working an extra day, bumped it up to 86ish...now up to 88 with overfly.
My stats:
LAA
DCA/737/FO
57%
15 years seniority
Days off vary by base and equipment, just like everywhere else.
777 no matter what base, gets you the most days off
Mia 320 gets the least, along with some 737..I've seen lines with 8 days off!
DCA 737 is about average, usually around 14-15 days off

Only time I've ever had 8 days off was when voluntarily flying on my off days while on reserve at my commuter, ended up with 170 hours credit that month.
Who sits on the negotiations committee at the APA? Is it all senior 777 guys? (serious question).

8 days off...we really need to think about voting in ALPA

Not defending APA at all, but I doubt ALPA would have gotten a better contract this time around. Would be the same.people in power.

While our new contract has a lot of things that need improving, it is vastly superior to what the others got right outside of BK...given, of course, that we had the benefit of being the last to enter BK and learned from the others.

I certainly hope the contract you just voted in addresses this. I've been at UA just over a year with a line for the past 6 months and I've never had less than 17 days off as a line holder. I'm in the most junior base, but still. 8 days off? Im hoping that's more rare than typical.

I was recently told that the company views efficiency differently than most airlines.
They look at your TAFB and divide that by days off. The higher the number the better in their eyes, as they are getting "more for their money".
So, compare the two:
Pilot A who does 7 red-eyes a month for 77 hours, 9 days off, TAFB of say 250 hours, credit 77 hours. (Just an example. Most of my red eye lines were 2-days followed by red-eyes).
Pilot B who does 3 25 hour 4-days, 18 days off, TAFB 320, credit 75 hours.
Pilot A 250/9 = 27.8
Pilot B 320/18 = 17.8
Company wants more of "Pilot A" and less of "Pilot B" because in their eyes they are getting more of their monies worth from them.
Most reasonable people would look at it and divide credit by days on for efficiency, ie
Pilot A 77/21 = 3.7 block per day
Pilot B 75/12 = 6.25 block per day
These are the people running the company with our careers in their hands...
