Default LUS New Hires?

Any intel on how many new hires have been going to the LUS side lately?

I heard the CLT training center was doing fewer people these days, but haven't been able to find specifics anywhere.

I don't think any have gone to the east side this year. The rumor floating around is only 50 to the east this year, which seems really low considering the number of retirements. The next few months should be filled with returning furloughed AA guys. I'm not sure if there is some requirement that they return to LAA or not.

That does seem mighty low.

Lots and lots or retirements starting to kick in. And it doesn't seem like things are crazy overstaffed.....

Time will tell

I finished class a few weeks ago and I was told like 54 to airways in 2015. Never determined if that was including my group or not. I am pretty sure there are some flow agreements...not sure how they plan to get around those.

I just want to be clear on this - would it be a true statement to say that soon (or relatively soon) US Air will cease to exist, being absorbed into AA fully?

I'd love to be Philly-based, so the only route to there is through AA now, yes?

Just want to be sure I'm not missing something frightfully obvious.

Airways stopped all interviewing sometime last summer. It now is all done in Dallas. They assign folks to either certificate now and until there is one seniority list. Having a single certificate doesn't change the fact that there are essentially three airlines.

America West and Airways merged in 2005 and even in 2015 guys who were PHX based can't leave and guys who are east coast based can't bid into PHX. That will change once the SLI is complete.

So to answer your question the only way to be PHL based as a new hire is to get assigned to the east however that will change hopefully within the year to allow folks to move around as the SLI is completed.

Will AA be doing any training in CLT? From what I hear, the DFW Airbus sims are pretty busy...
