What? Why in the world would they allow someone within 1 month of retirement to flow to American. Also, the better question is, why in the world would he want to? Indoc isn't exactly a vacation.

Are you serious? Compared to my commuter, indoc was actually, well, a vacation. It was a joke, and every night was a party.
I will say, I did like having the various departments come in and talk to us and explain their side of things (Dispatch, Maintenance, Load, etc). |

Exactly! 5 days of information crammed into 2 weeks. I enjoyed it thoroughly!

Update
Looks like the letter of agreement on constructive notice new hires is out. I had trouble with the email link. I was able to get to it by logging on to the APA site and opening the hotline from yesterday and clicking on that link. Bottom line...looks like they are assigning all new hires (LAA & LUS) a new OCC date equal to their DOH. They will then be merged based on that. So essentially they used DOH. The document has more info. For any Constructive Notice LUS guys curious about where that would put them (when vacancies allow, of course). You can see the LAA list under "Quick links" "New Hire/New Members" "seniority & member/non member status" find where you plug in then go to... "Quick links" "3XP/Scheduling" "Enhanced 3XP" and then plug and play For LAA guys wanting to look at LUS domiciles, it will be more tedious. I'd just pull up the latest LUS permanent bid results (AApilots.com) and comb through it. Edit: Just to add on. Everyone will keep their relative seniority of their current side. So for LAA guys that bid into a commute in order to get a better seniority number...you'll get to keep that better seniority number. |

Thank god, finally a reasonable and fair piece of legislation from our union!
I got my raise (LUS) on my DOH, I assume that will continue moving forward then? I read that westbrook was quoted as promising to "revisit that at a later date." In other words-there are some who haven't given up on postponing all our annual raises. -The pay raises are actually based on "classification" date. For the moment , DOH and "classification" date are the same thing-but that could always change-if we don't elect better people. (Remember that when you fill out your ballot.) |
I really don't get this mentality of making things harder or worse for members. There's really no useful reason to push new hire pay anniversaries back by a few months...none at all. Other than "that's how we've always done it around here" (and then again, that's not really a "useful" reason).

How do you pull up the LUS bid results?

I voted for Carey. I like what I heard about him-sounds like a real breath of fresh air...... |
