JonnyKnoxville and CargoPirate,
Thanks for once again proving my point. Instead of offering up advice and allowing someone to make their own decisions you guys resort to name calling (psychologically unstable, management tool) those that don't agree with you.
And I highly doubt that a few internet warriors here on APC can be mistaken for the "vast majority".
And if you don't think that International, Heavy time doesn't help your resume, ask those that have left for UPS and FedEx.

Now our leadership is getting 2 phone calls a day of guys asking how to resign!

If you still don't know what we're trying to tell you, then nothing I can say will help you at this point.
Virtually every Atlas pilot posting on these boards has the same message: Atlas BAD.
You can argue semantics and the outsiders point of view all you want, but ours is the message from inside. We can't stop you from applying at Atlas if you choose to ignore our warnings, but I think the message is pretty clear.
747 and 767 captains are leaving Atlas.
From October to the current seniority list, there have been 8 new hire classes and a total net gain of 8 pilots.
We are being sued by the company.
Our right to honor picket lines has been taken to court in an effort to weaken our union.
If you still don't understand, you aren't paying attention.

Don't forget new hires. You will have imputed income for all you travel to and from your base. You will also pay for the hotels in bases as well. (Tax)(your not taxed if it's less then 18hrs.?)
My average has been about $200 to $400 a paycheck. So factor that into your budget at 50hrs guarantee @ $79 hr.
You really do not have much control over it. The company can and will sit you for days in R2. (Reserve) So you could have a hefty tax bill if your base has expensive hotels and flights!

People on this forum have just gotten so negative lately and I just can't understand why.

Are you insinuating that our pilots are happy right now? 99.6% strike vote a year ago BEFORE they sued us, passed the amendable date without a single negotiating session, saw K4 get a new contract AND tried to arbitrate away our right to refuse to cross a picket line....
Now our leadership is getting 2 phone calls a day of guys asking how to resign!

A. You provide a written letter addressed to the chief pilot or equivalent that states you're terminating your employment effective in 2 weeks while thanking them for providing you a job.
Or
B. You throw your ID like a Chinese throwing star at the chief pilots face while kicking over his trash can (don't recommend this option although it would be such a stress relief)

Globemaster, why do you have to be such a pessimist? That pilot got a vacation to ANC in the summer and got to fly a 747. What do you expect, Atlas to actually have to pay him for such a privilege? I think not, vacations cost money even if you can't bring your family with you.

How to resign? Well there's a few options. The most popular that come to mind is:
