Hope they buy Atlas. Would solve many issues with the Lift shortage and ramp space. And as a bonus UPS would finally break the 3000 seniority number! The one that was promised by year 2000 in the mid 90's. lol- Only 20 years late.
With the retirements and even with them hiring the 300 in 2018, 3000 pilots will never be reached. Probably never will happen. Unless they do go with all 28 -8's and the other MWB purchase.

Haha, just saw the auto-spell correction.. never caught it...
Maybe this was my Freudian slip?
Either way, personally I hope we never buy Atlas or any other airline and keep growing from within instead... wish them the same. Mergers are never (or extremely seldom) good.

Whale, you sound like a typical millennial. First, I'm junior whale dung. Not some senior pilot as you suggest. And Old School. Date of Hire I have always believed. You need to look long term, not next month. Buying Atlas would be a stroke of genius by UPS.
Instant needed lift. Compatible Fleets. CVG. Ramp space. And as a bonus, Amazon Air technically gone. Screw Bezo's? That is enough reason alone.
And every IPA FO hired 2010 or earlier, instant left seat. UPS grow internally? Please. They can't even get a slot at an airport a year out. The training center is a skeleton of what is needed. They were too cheap to buy slots from Boeing years ago, now they have no idea were to get the lift needed. And the earliest they can get any is 2020 if they bought yesterday. Customers will be going to FDX since UPS will not be able to service them.

But what do we do with the Atlas crews?
Do we "Challenge" them?
Give them preferential interviews?
If we decide to keep them, how do we integrate them into the IPA list?
Integrate by W2 as has been suggested?
Or a simple staple, since most are wanting to come here anyway and start out at the bottom. Their argument they'd surely put up about about not being stapled would be moot.
