If this contract is reasonable, it will be best to stay here. I am grateful that I don't have to work past 60.

I get it but the oldest that I offered my rec to was probably 44-45. On your old contract before the 10% raise last year I calculated 3.7 years to break even for a 747 Captain on year 7 pay. That's where I was almost 3 years ago and I'm almost even right now so it'll probably be 5 years on your new contract. I wouldn't leave Atlas if I were older than 55 but with me upgrading at about 3.5-4 years.... The math will be there even with a $290 rate for a 747 CA at Atlas. Not to mention we started negotiations this month and historically we're 2 years of negotiations on contracts we vote yes on. We had a FRAMEWORK agreement before negotiations even started! Remember how hard the Atlas management fought us on something as simple as a Framework agreement?

I don't doubt that it doesn't make sense for you or all Atlas guys but I bet after all the hiring/attrition that Atlas is a VERY young company. For those reading this, make sure to network. Just be friendly and keep in touch with those who've left and you never know when they'll bring you along to where they left for...

You certainly are not wrong. It is a sad day when I have to mentor younger pilots by telling them to leave Atlas. It breaks my heart really because I like my job, and I don't want to work anywhere else. Atlas should be leading the pack. We have lost countless business opportunities due to the short sighted practices of management. This should have been a win/win for all parties.

I always encourage younger pilots to weigh their options and do what it best for them.

Hopefully, we will now our fate by the Fall...

Globes got it right with keeping your options open/ties with friends - you never know when you might need a life line.

It is sad like Atlas shrugged mentioned. I as well enjoy this job and it’s diversified flying and idiosyncrasies with the ability to forego hub turns, 7PM-7AM ready to jump duty, etc. (Dependent on your equipment of course). Many unique areas/options the ACMI world provides, but in the end it does not glaringly measure up to regarding industry standards.

Once we get the new CBA, whenever that might be, how long does it normally take to implement it?

It really is a fun job if you've got your 1000 PIC and are wanting to go to FedEx or UPS. That's the resume I'd want going into a job at Atlas. With the 1000 PIC in hand you don't have to wait to upgrade to leave if that's what you want to do and you can find your niche in the 767 or 747/777 based on what type of flying you want.

Your “new” CBA is basically current book- so it won’t take that long to transition. Expect 17 days, 4.85 on the rig, 65 MMG, and a slight pay bump for your efforts on working 17 straight days. Now get back to work, and we will see you in 10 years for the next one.

I wouldn't call Kalitta rates a "slight" pay bump.

We are so far behind that I think the pay will seem like a huge increase, but the devil lies in the details. Work rules make or break quality of life.

Now that the company has decided to not delay the arbitration any longer, we will know our fates within 3 months or so.

Keep in mind that we have many sections, like industry leading dead heading, that are already settled. Significant changes are coming, but will it be enough? Will management continue their adversarial attitude towards this pilot group? Only time will tell...

What is the normal attrition at Atlas? How many per month?
