The contract ratified in part by the Air Line Pilots Association includes a 30-percent increase in starting first officer wages ($51 per hour), a 25-percent increase in starting captain wages ($84 per hour), a commuting program that includes company-paid travel between home and work, a 50-percent match of 401(k) contributions by employees up to 16 percent, a sign-on bonus of up to $50,000 for direct entry captains, and a longevity credit up to 50 percent for new hires with prior Part 121 industry experience.
So it must be some kind of gateway program like ours.

I went to school up in AK and still have a bunch of friends there. Can you expand on this? How does it work? I’m assuming 74? If this is indeed easily attainable my career calculus has just shifted considerably.

When I was based there, I saw hard rest at least 1 to 2 times a pattern unless I started in a different base and the company found a way to utilize me out of Japan often like they did at the beginning of the year.
This is on the 747 only and the only base that on the 747 were ANC base folks get hard rest in base. If you are based in the lower 48, forget about it. Once you leave base, you won’t see it until the end of the pattern.

I've done patterns where I needed 90 hours of rest when I hit ANC.
And indeed, this is 747 ANC only thing.

20 days might take a bit of seniority, 17-19 should be doable as a new hire. 121 augmented rest rules requires you to have 2x over 12 hr block hours of rest you flew every time you hit your domicile. So let's say you fly ANC-HKG-ICN ICN-HKG-ANC, that's approx. 28 block hours. It means when you hit ANC, you need 56 hours of rest.

You aren’t getting 20 days in Anchorage. You might see some months like that for sure. Probably even better. But on Average as a very senior FO I was still away from Anchorage 11-12 nights a month. That’s as an FO. As a Capt it will vary drastically with the shift in seniority and Anchorage is a pretty senior base at the top end just like every other base. So seniority gains will pretty much halt at the 50% for a decade or so.
