That’s as an FO. As a Capt it will vary drastically with the shift in seniority and Anchorage is a pretty senior base at the top end just like every other base. So seniority gains will pretty much halt at the 50% for a decade or so.
I’ll say 13-17 days on avg for a ANC guy at home. 20 days is on the Unicorn end of the spectrum. Things have to perfectly align for that.

When I was based there, I saw hard rest at least 1 to 2 times a pattern unless I started in a different base and the company found a way to utilize me out of Japan often like they did at the beginning of the year.

This is on the 747 only and the only base that on the 747 were ANC base folks get hard rest in base. If you are based in the lower 48, forget about it. Once you leave base, you won’t see it until the end of the pattern.

This is not true. I am JFK based on the 767 and I recently got heavy rest. It doesn’t happen as often as ANC 747, but it does happen in other fleets and bases.

How DARE YOU question new hires that tell everybody that it’s all rainbows and unicorns at Atlas!! EVERYBODY gets 170 hours a month credit and is home 20+ days a month! 😂

There are a few new FO’s at Atlas that go out of their way to tell everybody how great it is…how much they make every month but is extremely unrealistic…and they will never back any of it up with names, pay stubs, etc….anything verifiable.

Then again…maybe they’re not actually pilots but just management plants.

Far from a management plant myself….. But can you refute the fact that those live in ANC on the 747 don’t see home more often or not? Hell, I hear all the time from ANC living base guys…

I am just a commuter, I am looking forward to my shorter commutes now that give me back a full day of one my days off.

Right now it pretty much is rainbows and unicorns. Not a single primary line in ANC that pays less than 100 hours, few lines close to 200. What's unrealistic about getting paid your line guarantee? When Article 33 flying goes away eventually, those numbers will change. But let's enjoy it while it lasts.

20 days might be a stretch, but 17 is doable for guys who live in ANC.

If one day extra at home is make or break for you then you’re applying at the wrong place.
How many times do we have to say it, now repeat after me:

Budget minimum monthly guarantee
It’s 17 days away for me!

Budget minimum monthly guarantee
It’s 17 days away for me!

Budget minimum monthly guarantee
It’s 17 days away for me!

There are management types on here intentionally trying to lure you here. Don't take the bait. What he wrote about layovers in base could not be further from the truth.

Maybe you could add some facts here then? You don't believe in 121.485(b)?

The regulation states “at your base”, it’s a common industry tactic to not send you through your base mid pattern….ergo no ‘heavy’ rest.
