Default Luggage suggestions

Hi I’m a new hire on the 74. Just seeking suggestions for luggage options to keep things light, any popular bag models that crew like? Any suggestions where to get a good deal on Bose headsets?

Thx

They make special crew luggage for the 737, so that it can somehow fit in the cockpit.

On a 747? May as well travel in comfort...

After a few times hauling that to the main deck...

I had the Luggage Works 22”, and loved it for the most part. Replaced it with a Travel Pro 22” Expandable and it offers a bit more room and is noticeably lighter. The LW is 5 lbs heavier but will probably last longer since it’s got all that protective metal around the edges. As for a headset, these are freighters with significant amount of noise, get one, your ears and grandkids will thank you.

One problem with the LW is that once that metal frame is bent it may never stand upright on its own. The freight loaders strapped my bag to the main deck of a 747 down so tightly with the rachet straps it ruined my bag. I've got a Tumi, probably too exensive, but super light. Check out Briggs & Riley. Light with a lifetime warranty. A bag is not a great place to go cheap.

I have the Stealth Premier 22" from Luggage Works. I probably overpack, but it has worked out well. I have squeezed it into the overheads on the E170 and old 737s, but opt for the gate valet when I can get it. It holds 8 days of socks, briefs, and t-shirts, along with 3 work shirts and trousers, sneakers and casual shoes, jeans, and three casual shirts. I carry jackets on the outside. Easier to pack when everything is clean.

I never understood the love for the LW bags. The frame gets bent too easily and it’s heavy AF. But I guess it appeals to guys that just want a beefy manly looking bag. I switched to the Travel Pro FlightCrew 22” pilot bag and its held up far better than any LW ever did.

22 inch Travelpro. I had a 20 inch but it was too small.

I could last a full pattern with one stop in ICN for a refresh!

beefy manly looking bag”. Ok buddy. We probably have lifted trucks and small dic*s as well. If yours did bend, maybe you’re too manly.
