I’m happy that we even get to have this dialogue. If XXX gateway is already in our contract then why exactly do we need this LOA replacement? As I’ve talked to a few international commuters, the company stopped honoring this. The other thing that I’m confused about, why does this have to be a bundled package? These seem like two different issues that we are being forced into voting in as one issue. I’ll admit that I haven’t done the reading just yet. I was reading the comments and thought that someone could give me the cliff notes first. I’m all for DC and anything that is an improvement, I’m just trying to figure out the minutiae in the proposal.

The company needs the XXX. Its a benefit to the company, not us (as a group). The retirement (although only effecting maybe 1/3rd of the pilot group in the 14 months) is a carrot to make it seem like we're getting a good deal. Without the retirement carrot there is zero way a majority would vote for the XXX gateway.

Simply meant the confirmed seat isn't going to make 15 hour economy flights leaps and bounds better and it's not going to open the Aussie floodgates. For those few who want to commute that far it's a great help, and they'll certainly build up the frequent flyer miles quick.

Does revisiting the XXX gateway language require a vote? Does any of this?

There is no XXX gateway language.
Company can do it if they want.

The company can do whatever they want with XXX. That is just a stupid red herring to say the LOA benefits the company, as it does not in any way, shape or form. Company does not need it. They can do it tomorrow if they want.

Way more than 1/3rd of the pilot group here make more than 225k.

Feckless and gutless.
I have said that verbatim, and the Australians agree. As long as you read my whole post and not just pick and choose words out of context.

The only issue I have with this is that the green card pathway MOU should have been included in this LOA.
Is there a link to this green card MOU?

No, unfortunately at this time there is no path to green card MOU.

such a narrow minded selfish pilot. Why would you think Aussies will work for scrap? Im not an Aussie BTW. They have good international experience and lots of them are great asset to the company. None of them is holding your pay raise. But your employer does. AA, United and Delta are hiring. You should get your way there.
