I’m happy that we even get to have this dialogue. If XXX gateway is already in our contract then why exactly do we need this LOA replacement? As I’ve talked to a few international commuters, the company stopped honoring this. The other thing that I’m confused about, why does this have to be a bundled package? These seem like two different issues that we are being forced into voting in as one issue. I’ll admit that I haven’t done the reading just yet. I was reading the comments and thought that someone could give me the cliff notes first. I’m all for DC and anything that is an improvement, I’m just trying to figure out the minutiae in the proposal.

Different strokes for different folks but I’d like to respectfully disagree. The mental health impact of worrying about whether one will actually get a seat back to the US to fulfill roster obligation’s can sometimes be enough to bring on a stroke! So, the idea of a confirmed economy seat for international commuters is heaven!

The company needs the XXX. Its a benefit to the company, not us (as a group). The retirement (although only effecting maybe 1/3rd of the pilot group in the 14 months) is a carrot to make it seem like we're getting a good deal. Without the retirement carrot there is zero way a majority would vote for the XXX gateway.

Way more than 1/3rd of the pilot group here make more than 225k.

Just a quick reminder, every US carrier that has hired Australians under the E3 program has had pay rises. I would venture a bet that those who espouse such vitriolic rubbish about ‘them over here’ and ‘happy to be paid in Koalas and Kangaroos’ would never say it to an Australian’s face. Instead, you announce your bigoted BS anonymously on an internet message board.

What "company's problem"?
This seems to be the confusion for many. Company has no problem with XXX. They can do that tomorrow if they so choose with no input from the pilot group.
The only issue I have with this is that the green card pathway MOU should have been included in this LOA.

such a narrow minded selfish pilot. Why would you think Aussies will work for scrap? Im not an Aussie BTW. They have good international experience and lots of them are great asset to the company. None of them is holding your pay raise. But your employer does. AA, United and Delta are hiring. You should get your way there.
