Good Bye Amazon

Regardless, I hope the Amazon stuff doesn't negatively affect the Atlas pilot group. I say good riddance...

Yeah, different strokes and all that. I'm not a fan of the typical ACMI schedule, but my buddies over there make fun of me for having to go back and forth to work three or four times per month. They love the longer tours and longer stretches off. I certainly envy the variety in their flying!

There isn't need for guys at legacy carriers who haven't worked at Atlas to come in try to talk down on the pilot group. It really shows their insecurities with the decisions that they have made... I guess that is the point I am trying to make.

2 years at AA has quickly gone straight to your head, little neophyte. Atlas is not equivalent to Kalitta. And we're walking away from Amazon, not vice versa.
But to answer your stupid question: I gladly turned down AA to come to Atlas after working at their wholly-owned scumbag regional for 8 years. My QOL is FAR better than it ever would've been at the new, post-bankruptcy AA, and far better than that of my coworkers who stuck around at that place. I know several Atlas pilots who have turned down Delta and UAL as well.
Believe it or not, some of us are intelligent enough to have other sources of income which dwarf they pay gap between the two airlines. The schedules at Atlas make these other endeavours quite viable and easy to manage.
So maybe shut your trap and reflect on the fact that AA will sht-can you in a heartbeat, along with 5,000 of your coworkers if the economy makes a hiccup.
But hey, have fun flying your little A-320 Neo-nazi between DFW and Tulsa 3 times per day 👍🏼

With that being said, I’ve said before and I’ll say it again, Atlas is the coolest job I’ve ever had. AA just pays way better and offers way more flexibility, hands down. If they both paid the same……I’d still be flying the 74 with a smile on my face.

Easy, no jumpseating, no crash pads, and larger chunks of time at home. And no pax or FAs or pax terminals to deal with 99% of the time. Great international locations and 1 leg per day. Just off the top of my head.
