Atlas Air Hiring
OK. You're right that we have different opinions about how to get there.
Those of us who have been burned by previous airlines and have few options for exiting this job tend to be more adamant about the situation at Atlas and want to see the change happen as soon as possible. IMHO, the best way to do this is to be adamant and blatant about the negatives here in order to apply pressure on the company. It may not seem like much of a strategy but it is what we have to fight this war with.
OTOH, pilots who are leaving Atlas seem to be less energized about the troubles here. Hopefully sooner or later we'll all end up in a better place than where we are now.
It's just that for some of us, it'll be much, much later.

I don't think any of us have any real options until we are actually sitting in the seat of that next airline. That being said, I hope Atlas stays afloat long enough for me to get to that next seat as I would think anyone would.
The guys that are leaving that are not as energized about this movement is because in their minds, they have already left or they were never here. But those are few and far between.
Like Tahoe said, I think there is a lot of passion out there and I think our message is being sent. I don't think management reads these forums and if they do, I don't think they care....obviously. But, I think we are out of our league in my opinion. The company always seems to get what they want. Just ask the Polar or Atlas guys when they were stand alone, or even you 8! I am sure you have seem companies GUT airlines just to line their pockets. (66 mil)

Allegedly Dietrich acknowledged the attrition problem at the check airman meeting. I know that we've got some sim guys on here... Can we get a verification on that? Of course, even if he did say it his actions don't match his words.

From: Spreading the LUV from the "Write" seat!!!
I don't remember if it was in my new hire class, or during my interview that a management person said they followed the online banter. This was over a year ago....

Another guy I know who's been here about 1.5 years starts at United next month. A 747 Captain I know is starting at FedEx. We lost a senior 767 Captain this month who could've held the 747 since his seat lock was expired... He went to JET BLUE!!! He'd rather start over at Jet Blue than be a 747 Captain at Atlas. It's turning into a mass exodus.
